Happiness

Happiness

Lasting Happiness

  • Happiness lies within oneself.
  • Happiness is our nature.

Deluded Notion About Happiness

  • Will objects give happiness?
  • Will objects lead to disappointment only?
  • Will externalization bring happiness?
  • Will externalization bring misery and vexation [annoying] only?

Desire

Desire

Desire, Thought and Imagination Conversation

  • Desire: I want this sense-object.
  • Thought: I will plan and act to get it for you (desire).
  • Imagination: Getting it will give you (desire) a pleasure feeling.
  • Desire: Thank you, thought and imagination. I will attach to it.
  • As a result, if I (desire) cannot get it, I (desire) will fell pain. If I get it, but lose it later, I will also feel pain.
  • Conclusion: Getting (temporary) sense-object will not satisfy for long, before it will feel pain and start wanting it more, again and again.

And More…

  • Decrease the numbers of thoughts (by having less desires for sensual objects)
  • Detach from all sense-objects (and don’t attach to any sensual objects)
  • Destroy sensual desires one by one (by letting go of it, or by knowing its uselessness)
  • Reject sensual thoughts (by knowing its unsatisfied nature)
